About Us:

The museum was established in 1974. The museum is run by a volunteer executive elected by the museum board members. The executive is made up of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.



About the Role:

Learning and incorporating museum conservation methods and digitization procedures. The main focus of the position is to create digital content, through photography and data entry uploads to the online Musetoba Database. Secondary activities include; research, cleaning, exhibit creation, tours, manning the gift shop, hosting Friday Coffee Group, receiving and cataloguing new artifacts and yard maintenance.


The position reports to and is supervised by the executive members.



Responsibilities:

  • Learning and implementing appropriate museum conservation methods and digitization procedures

  • Performing research on artifacts, documenting research, designing and displaying new exhibits

  • Photographing artifacts and electronically cataloguing the information into the Musetoba database

  • Cleaning existing exhibits

  • Yard maintenance, cutting grass and gas-powered trimmer

  • Providing museum tours, operating the gift shop and hosting Friday Coffee Group

  • Receive, catalogue and display new artifact

  • Other duties as assigned



Candidate Requirements:

  • Good communication skills

  • Good computer skills, able to perform accurate data entry

  • Responsible, mature and reliable

  • Ability to do physical labour

  • Able to work independently, stay on task with minimal supervision

  • Between 15-30 years old

  • Must be returning to school in the fall

  • Available for the duration of the term, from June 30 to August 22, 2026.
